What types of services are available to do background checks on potential tenants? Any help or advice would be appriciated.

I have a very credible (OK, anal - HA!) source who says Screening Reports is far cheaper and better than the alternatives. I'd go to sjiclub.org and look in the vendors list (I used to belong and am lazy). Their site is www.screeningreports123.com
Also, I came across on a podcast www.criminalsearches.com - this is free and has pooled a lot of criminal searches -- could be useful - probably of more interest in finding out how many felonies your contractor has (or is that your potential brother-in-law..)..??
